1Start with an element of the world's cultural heritage
Mondrian was searching for the universal hidden inside reality. He believed the visible world was made of countless particular forms, but that behind that variety lay a universal order. To reveal it he progressively removed everything accidental and individual, reducing reality to its essential elements: horizontal and vertical lines, primary colours and non-colours.
